Sweet Potato is a magazine, online.

One that cares about people, places, and above all, food. The where, when, why and how of food...and the who.

You get the picture. This magazine is about all the wonderful connections that happen around food, its creation, growth, and how it's shared. Sometimes that leads us to the doorsteps of artists, designers, cultural thinkers, and place makers; more often than not, it leads us to fishers, foragers, cultivators, and farmers.

Sweet Potato got its start at Southlands in Tsawwassen, British Columbia, one of the largest "agri-hoods" in North America. It’s the home of the non-profit Grange Centre for Farming and Food and a future Market Square that will house food based retailers and restaurants. It’s a great place to call home and it’s inspired us to seek out the stories of like-minded thinkers and makers who are embarking on a more considered way of living and almost always doing so along the fascinating pathways leading us around the world to our food.

We look forward to travelling Canada and the world with you into the homes, restaurants, studios and farms of the many folks that inspire, delight and fascinate us.

Yours in the dirt,

S.P.
